The only thing they do here is give people the option to monetize their mods. isn't like with Bethesda games where they put up a huge barrier along with the possible mods-this is an option that mod auther can use if they wish. so if someone give his mode free and i think most mods or addons would be free, but if someone think his mod is so good and someone pay him then yes he can ask for money for his mod.Įxactly. It's a huge shame because i was going to buy this game until they mentioned the additional charges- who knows what else will then be charged for down the line. Yes they are both optional but the idea of mods is more of a hobbyist thing- look at what happened with Skyrim's paid mod fiasco. Good Luck and see ya when Ylands realeases ( cos youll be back) :p But i (and many others) saw the promise it had, I get the same vibes with this game.Īnd having bought many BiS games and seen how good the devs are i have confidence we have a game to match Minecraft. I was an early supporter of Minecraft when it came out, It was raw and really buggy with not alot of content. Oh, well if Paid Mods are your route I can safely remove your game from my Wishlist. For more information about monetization see Regarding the paid mods: giving creators options to sell their mods is something we're planning, but first we need to actually implement the modding support and then have a discussion about it with the community. Also, having our own Workshop gives us more control over it and will let us implement some features that wouldn't be possible in the future.
